Juan Matias Sanchez Adobe

Street-level view of the Juan Sanchez Adobe

The Juan Matias Sanchez adobe is the oldest standing structure in the City of Montebello (since 1845). It was not the first, the original location of the San Gabriel Mission (1771) is commemorated with a plaque on the corner of Lincoln Ave. and San Gabriel Blvd., however, nothing remains.

The adobe contains 2 rooms that house display cases filled with original items belonging to the family. There are also 3 other rooms that contain original furniture.
