| The Rose Hills Pageant of Roses Garden contains one of the most extensive collections of roses in southern California. It is open every day of the year, and there is no charge for admission. |
| The year-round green hills of the memorial park serve as a picturesque background to the rose garden. If you are visiting on a clear day, be sure to drive further up the hill to enjoy the view of the San Gabriel valley below. |

The commitment to establish a world class show garden was made in 1958 when Rose Hills attracted respected rosarian, John Howard van Barneveld (1899-1986) to make it happen. As an American Rose Society Gold Medalist, van Barneveld launched this renowned rose display and test garden, including some 240 varieties and 4000 plants, which to this day is recognized as one of the finest in the world. Garden opened 1959 - Plaque dedicated by van Barneveld Family - November 2009 Commitment to the beauty of our garden lives on. |
